Aleksander Rød
PeopleAleksander Rød primarily works with employment law and litigation/dispute resolution. His practice covers all aspects of the employment law field, including pensions, investigations, and data protection.
Rød has many years of experience as a lawyer with NHO’s legal services and Thommessen Law Firm, including ongoing advice to businesses in the field of employment law, covering issues related to collective labour law. Rød also assists employees, for example in cases concerning dismissal, summary dismissal, whistleblowing, and similar matters.
Rød has extensive experience litigating cases before the ordinary courts. He argued and passed his first test case before the Supreme Court in 2023. The case concerned the boundaries of what constitutes a whistleblowing notification under the provisions of the Working Environment Act. Furthermore, he has litigated a significant number of collective labour law cases before the Labour Court.
Rød also has experience with social security law issues. He was appointed as an NHO panel member of the appeals board for sickness benefits from 2017 to 2024.
Rød is frequently used as a lecturer on various employment law topics. Since 2010, he has been a regular examiner and supervisor at the University of Bergen (UIB) in various legal subjects.
